Don Tyson School of Innovation uses an instructional model based on the Springdale Public Schools framework, GRADES!, and The New Art and Science of Teaching by Dr. Robert Marzano.

To support the effective implementation of this instructional model, all teachers:

  • Set annual goals (Professional Growth Plans) to improve their teaching

  • Receive regular feedback from coaches and administrators

  • Learn through job-embedded professional development, coaching and support

  • Observe and learn from other teachers (Instructional Rounds)

What does that mean in the classroom and for our students? Teachers have described the practices that should be seen and heard in every classroom and on a regular basis.
